Many attended Dumbledore's funeral. They were students, professors, giants, ghosts, centaurs, merpeople and others from around the world. Dumbledore was shrouded in purple velvet and entombed in a white marble sarcophagus that sits beside the lake at Hogwarts school. He is the only Headmaster to be buried on the grounds. During the funeral, Fawkes, Dumbledore's phoenix, takes flight and departs from Hogwarts.
