The Maze
The Maze was created on the Quidditch pitch and had numerous obstacles and creatures. They were informed ahead of time about the task and allowed to prepare. The winner got the Triwizard Cup and 1000 galleons. The champions were released into the maze depending on their rank so far.
The Maze was sabotaged so Harry would win. Fleur and Viktor were eliminated because Viktor was placed under the Imperius Curse and stunned her. Viktor Krum under the curse tortured Cedric with the Cruciatus Curse and attempted to eliminate him. Harry arrived and stunned Viktor. Harry and Cedric worked together to finish the Maze.
This is where it all went wrong. The Cup was a portal to Voldermort. Cedric was murdered by him and Harry was used to bring him back to his full evil self.
